ALASTAIR LOUDON
Alastair is the curator and author for GentryLinks Books Ltd. Through detailed research and interpretation, works of iconic Scottish golfing art bring to life the characters responsible for the modern game of golf becoming more accessible in the middle of the 19th century, to its coming of age in 1894. Alastair has built on that work to carry forward the story of the modern game. As a member of The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews since 1969, Alastair has had access to the Club's wonderful library and spent decades studying the game and its fascinating history, offering readers insights that they maybe can’t get anywhere else.
ANTHONY OAKSHETT
Anthony has a broad portfolio including portraits, miniatures, and large scale works. Of particularly high profile is his ‘Armada Project’, a commission to create five very large paintings depicting tapestries that had been destroyed in the Great Fire of the Old Palace of Westminster in 1834. His creation of The Origins of the Ryder Cup 1926 forms part of what he terms his ‘Large Scale’ collection, also featuring work for The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews. Its significance, as a collectible item, is the heritage preceding the events leading up to the first Ryder Cup.
